Frequently Asked Questions
What should my child bring to camp each day?
Please bring a camp bag each day. Pack your camp bag with a towel, a change of clothing, stick sunscreen, pool shoes, and a refillable water bottle.
To help SRDC eliminate missing items, we ask that you please do the following:
Clearly label (with a permanent marker or use a label) your camper's FIRST AND LAST NAME on everything
Pack everything in ONE camp bag
Make sure loose items such as sunscreen, goggles, and eye glasses are in a well-marked bag
Place money for lunch in a labeled envelope
What should my child NOT bring to camp?
Campers SHOULD NOT bring toys, cell phones, electronic gaming devices, or anything else you do not want to lose. Campers are not permitted to use cell phones during the camp day. Summit Ridge Day Camp is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
What should my child wear to camp?
We recommend that campers come to camp in cool, comfortable clothing each day. Sneakers are required for daily camp activities. Absolutely no sandals or flip flops (except for pool time—add a pair to your camp bag).
What are the daily lunch options?
Campers can bring a lunch from home or purchase a hot lunch. If you would like to purchase a hot lunch for your child, detailed instructions will be provided on our website on how to prepay or purchase daily lunches. If you choose to pack a lunch for your child, we recommend using an ice pack as lunches are not refrigerated. If a camper forgets lunch, they will receive a hot lunch at camp and your account will be charged for that meal.
*Peanut-free tables are available for campers with food allergies.
My child requires medication during the camp day—what should I do?
If your camper requires medication during the camp day or medication that must be on campus (i.e. an EpiPen or other medication), a parent or guardian must complete the Medication Authorization Form and/or an Allergy Action Plan Form. These forms will be available for download on our website after registration begins. A parent or guardian should bring the completed form(s), along with the medication, to our health station on your camper's first day of camp. Our health office will check in the medication. You are responsible for picking up the medication on the last day of camp or we will dispose of it.
Does SRDC offer extended care?
SRDC offers Extended Care from 7:30 a.m. - 8:45 a.m. and from 3:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. You may sign up by the week (discounted) and pay online when you register for camp. You may also use drop-in care when necessary, in which case your account will be billed the day rate and your credit card on file will be charged at the end of the week.
Extended Care consists of supervised free play and games. During the last hour of PM Care, we often show an age-appropriate movie. We will provide a snack to our PM Campers, but we recommend that campers who attend PM Care pack an extra snack in their camp bag. Please make sure the snack is nut free. AM & PM Extended Care are held in the Gallery (Rec Room).
A parent or guardian must sign in campers in the AM. To pick up and sign out campers from PM Care, a parent or guardian must bring an ID and Carline Tag. If campers are not picked up by 6:00 p.m. your account will be charged $1 per minute until you arrive.
