Junior Counselors (Or first year staff) Must be entering 11th or 12th Grade

Junior Counselors support Group Counselors spend the day working with their campers and participating in all activities with them. We look for applicants who have patience, compassion, great listening and communication skills, spirit and the ability to relate to children. Must be able to commit to the majority of camp. Ideal candidate:

  • Entering 11th or 12th Grade

  • First year paid staff

  • Have been part of our C.I.T program

Group Counselors (For Campers entering 1st-8th Grade)

Each group of campers is led by 2 – 3 Group Counselors who fill the role as mentor, coach, older sibling and supervisor. Counselors spend the day working with their campers and participating in all activities with them. We look for applicants who have patience, compassion, great listening and communication skills, spirit and the ability to relate to children. Must be able to commit to the majority of camp. Ideal candidate:


  • Entering 12th Grade or HS graduate

  • Has spent at least one summer as SRDC junior counselor


Pre K and Kinder Groups (Certified)

Each group of campers is led by 2 – 3 Group Counselors who fill the role as mentor, coach, older sibling and supervisor. Counselors spend the day working with their campers and participating in all activities with them. We look for applicants who have patience, compassion, great listening and communication skills, spirit and the ability to relate to children. Must be able to commit to the majority of camp. Ideal candidate:


  • Entering 12th Grade or HS graduate

  • Has spent at least one summer as SRDC Pre K or K lcounselor

  • Must be willing to get NV State Certified for age group.


Specialty Camp Counselors

Specialty Camp Counselors fill the role of group counselor for one of our specific specialty camps. We look for applicants who have patience, compassion, great listening and communication skills, spirit and the ability to relate to children in their specific camp program. We expect these counselors to work with Leadership to develop programming suitable for their program. Must be able to commit to the majority of camp. Ideal candidate:


  • Entering 12th Grade or HS graduate

  • Has spent at least one summer as SRDC counselor

  • Has background working with the specific age or activity

  • Is willing to do pre camp work to plan activities

Division Leaders (Pre K - K. Grade 1 -3, Grade 4-5)

Division Leaders act as a liaison between the Directors and the groups or divisions for which they are responsible. Division Leaders are direct supervisors of the campers and counselors in their groups and assist the Directors with all activities, group issues and staff performance. The Division Leaders are fully involved in all aspects of their campers’ day, including meal supervision, group management and scheduling. They meet with the Directors to exchange information as to the events of that particular day and maintain an open line of communication with their counselors and campers. Each afternoon, after campers go home, Division Leaders review each of their groups’ Daily Reports, which are filled out by their counselors. Must be able to commit to the majority of camp. Ideal Candidate:

  • Division Leaders must have at least 2 years Group Counselor Experience.

Specialists

Lead Specialists teach, supervise and ensure the overall safety of the specialty area. Applicants must demonstrate significant experience teaching/coaching in the specialty area, as well as the ability to train and supervise. We require our Lead Specialists to be able to work autonomously, developing their own program within our camp’s philosophy. We follow a team approach and all work together to ensure the highest quality program and camp experience. Ideal Candidates specialize in performing arts, sports, science, movement, crafts and can commit to the entire summer.

  • Are 18+

  • Have classroom experience

  • Create programming
